The garden was created last century around a 17th century manor house. The garden was largely the creation of Phyllis Reiss, who moved here with her husband in 1933. The garden is devided into rooms by clipped hedges and walls. Each room has its own caracter and identity within a tranquil and harmonious whole. The garden is owned by the National Trust.
