Aomori is the northern city on Honshu and has a population of 300 000 inhabitants. It is a center for fishing and shipping. The city was almost completly destroyed during WWII and has been rebuilt in a modern way. Interesting sights is Museum of Historical Folkcraft and Aomori Cultural Museum just outside the city.
