Parken gr\u00e4nsar till de andra stora nationalparkerna Sarek och Stora sj\u00f6fallet och utg\u00f6r tillsammans med Mudduss och naturreservatet Sjaunja v\u00e4rldsarvet Laponia. Padjelanta best\u00e5r fr\u00e4mst av en sj\u00f6rik h\u00f6gplat\u00e5 med rik flora och fauna. Parken gr\u00e4nsar till Norge i v\u00e4ster och h\u00f6jer sig mot Sareks h\u00f6ga toppar i \u00f6ster. Genom nationalparken g\u00e5r padjelantaleden som g\u00f6r omr\u00e5det relativt l\u00e4ttillg\u00e4ngligt.
