Det var efter den stora industri-, sl\u00f6jd och konstutst\u00e4llningen 1907 som omr\u00e5dets omvandlades till park. Den gamla stadsvallen finns bevarad i parken som nu genomg\u00e5r en f\u00f6rnyelse som bland annat innefattar utvidgning av observatorieparken fr\u00e5n 1867, idrottsplatsen samt en ny entr\u00e9
