N\u00e4r djuren blir \u00e4ldre \u00f6verg\u00e5r f\u00e4rgerna i brunt med m\u00f6rka f\u00e4lt och en rand l\u00e4ng sidan som senare utvecklas till j\u00e4mnbrun botten med tv\u00e5 svarta streck l\u00e4ngs b\u00e5da sidorna vilket gett namn \u00e5t arten. utbredningen \u00e4r s\u00f6dra Balkan fr\u00e5n Grekland upp till Kroatiens kust samt s\u00f6dra halvan av den Italienska halv\u00f6n men inte Sicilien. De h\u00e5ller g\u00e4rna till i fuktiga milj\u00f6er med \u00e4ngsmark, buskage och l\u00f6vskog. Normalt under 900 meter men s\u00e4llsynt upp till 1400 meter \u00f6ver havet. \u00c4r dagaktiv och jagar fr\u00e4mst p\u00e5 marken men kan kl\u00e4ttra i vegetationen.
