H\u00e4r reser sig bergen till 1000 meter och \u00e4r till stora delar skogskl\u00e4dda. I dalg\u00e5ngarna finns byar och odlingsmarker med rika sl\u00e5tter\u00e4ngar och porlande vattendrag. Skogarna har tidigare varit kraftigt p\u00e5verkade av industriverksamhet med bland annat glastillverkning och det finns inte m\u00e5nga riktigt gamla skogar kvar.
