En nya art har urskilts p\u00e5 senare \u00e5r i Lanza\u00b4s salamander som finns i de Italienska alperna v\u00e4ster om Turin med liknande utseende.  Djuren blir upp till 15 cm l\u00e5nga och lever p\u00e5 alp\u00e4ngar med steniga partier d\u00e4r den s\u00f6ker skydd. Den p\u00e5tr\u00e4ffas fr\u00e5n 400 meter till 2800 meter \u00f6ver havet. Fr\u00e4mst aktiva nattetid och vid regn.
