H\u00e4r finns de h\u00f6gsta topparna i bergskedjan Appenierna med Corno Grande med \u00f6ver 2900 meter som h\u00f6gsta punkt. Utm\u00e4rkande \u00e4r de spetsiga och dramatiska topparna men ocks\u00e5 den stora h\u00f6gsl\u00e4tten i Campo Imperatore som ligger uppe i bergen vid foten av Corno Grande. Nationalparken domineras av \u00f6ppna betesmarker och alpina milj\u00f6er med skog fr\u00e4mst i de norra delarna. Rikedomen p\u00e5 v\u00e4xter och djur \u00e4r stor med m\u00e5nga endemiska arter f\u00f6r appennierna.<a href=\"http:\/\/ekid.se\/?attachment_id=6311\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-6311\"><img
