Parken best\u00e5r av flera bergskedjor med toppar p\u00e5 \u00f6ver 2500 meter, omfattande bokskogar (ca 60% av parken) som hyser en mycket rik fauna med bj\u00f6rn (ca 30 djur), varg (ca 30 djur), gems, kronhjort, vildsvin m.m. Stora delar av kulturlandskapet drivs fortfarande traditionellt med extensiv boskapsdrift, topphuggning av bokar, sl\u00e5tter etc. Mitt i parken ligger byn Pescaserelli som en bra bas f\u00f6r att utforska naturen. Speciellt f\u00f6r hela bergsomr\u00e5det i centrala Italien \u00e4r de m\u00e5nga bef\u00e4sta bergsbyarna som bevarats mycket intakt sedan medeltiden. Byarna ligger oftast h\u00f6gt uppe p\u00e5 en klippa med mycket smala och branta gr\u00e4nder, omg\u00e4rdade av portar och delvis muromg\u00e4rdade. <a href=\"http:\/\/ekid.se\/?attachment_id=6261\"
