F\u00f6rsta intrycket av Nyn\u00e4shamn \u00e4r n\u00e4rheten till havet, sk\u00e4rg\u00e5rden och topografin d\u00e4r landskapet h\u00f6jer sig i flera bergs\u00e5sar in\u00e5t land. M\u00e5nga passerar staden p\u00e5 v\u00e4g till och fr\u00e5n Gotlandsf\u00e4rjorna och ser bebyggelsen kl\u00e4ttra p\u00e5 bergen. Vid en f\u00f6rsta blick verkar frist\u00e5ende villor dominera men ovanf\u00f6r stationen finns en mer sammanh\u00e5llen kvartersbebyggelse med den r\u00f6da kyrkan p\u00e5 en h\u00f6g klippa som stadens viktigaste monument. Av den ursprungliga tr\u00e4arkitekturen finns en del kvar men i centrum dominerar efterkrigstidens modernism med inslag av storskaliga byggnader f\u00f6r offentlig verksamhet och handel. Det finns dock inte m\u00e5nga aff\u00e4rer i centrum som ger ett ganska \u00f6dsligt intryck. Torget framf\u00f6r kultur- och kommunhus har en speciell skulpturell utformning med gatsten som reser sig i organiska murar runt torget. Intill stationen ligger svandammsparken som en gr\u00f6n lunga intill centrum. Hamnen \u00e4r livlig med sm\u00e5b\u00e5tar sommartid och har flera restauranger. H\u00e4r finns \u00e4ven en mysig samling nyare bodar i gammal stil som omger ett litet torg med uteservering. Annars \u00e4r det de stora ytorna i f\u00e4rjehamnen som dominerar hamnomr\u00e5det och de v\u00e4ldiga gotlandsf\u00e4rjorna som l\u00e4gger till.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image
