Detta \u00e4r den f\u00f6rsta centrumanl\u00e4ggning enligt det engelska begreppet grannskapsenhet som byggdes i Sverige och stod klart 1953 men planerades under 1940-talet. Stadsplanen f\u00f6r centrum ritades av arkitekten Uno \u00c5hr\u00e9n och best\u00e5r av ett torg som \u00e4r indraget fr\u00e5n huvudgatorna med en \u00f6ppning mot korsningen samt flera passager genom byggnaderna kring torget. Torget domineras av kulturverksamheter som folkets hus, teater, medborgarhus, bibliotek och \u00e4r inbjudande med font\u00e4n, sittplatser, gr\u00f6nska och tv\u00e5v\u00e5nings byggnader. Medborgarhuset \u00e4r v\u00e4lbevarat fr\u00e5n 1950-talet med fint formspr\u00e5k och detaljer. Flera g\u00e5rdar innanf\u00f6r ger ljus och fina utemilj\u00f6er. Runt centrum finns bost\u00e4der fr\u00e5n 1940- och 1950-talet med lamellhus och punkthus i typisk 3 v\u00e5ningar upp till 5-6. Kyrkan ligger strax s\u00f6der om torget.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Under de senaste decennierna har f\u00f6rt\u00e4tning skett i den \u00f6stra delen av \u00c5rsta l\u00e4ngs tv\u00e4rbanan och tillfartslederna som blivit stadsgator. Det \u00e4r h\u00f6gt och t\u00e4tt men bidrar till stadslivet och knyter ihop stadsdelarna.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\"
