Templet byggdes kring \u00e5r 1400 av shogun Yoshimochi Ashikaga och restaurerades kring \u00e5r 1600 av Ishin Suden. Tr\u00e4dg\u00e5rden \u00e4r k\u00e4nd som en av Kyotos vackraste stentr\u00e4dg\u00e5rdar med en stor grusyta som inramas av en v\u00e4gg av formklippta buskar och tr\u00e4d som fond till n\u00e5gra speciellt vackra stenar och \u00e4ldre buskformade tr\u00e4d. Den h\u00f6gra stengruppen skall f\u00f6rest\u00e4lla en trana och den v\u00e4nstra en sk\u00f6ldpadda. Tr\u00e4dg\u00e5rden har \u00f6ven fler delar med en damm och g\u00e5ngar som ringlar sig upp till mindre tempelbyggnader och begravningsplats.
